Starling Audio's Equipment
Recording
We're not precious about our gear. If it helps get the job done, it's good enough for us. The technology exists in service to the music, not vice versa. Having said that, we know you're curious, so here's a list of some of the stuff we've accumulated.Microphones
Here are some microphones we have:
- Røde NT2-a x 2
- Røde NT5 Stereo pair
- Teac ME-120, with cardioid and omni capsules. A gift from our friend Sharron Krauss
- AKG D12 x 2
- Shure SM58 Beta
- Shure SM58 x 5
- Shure SM57 x 4 (including one original Unidyne III)
- AKG C1000 x 2
- AKG D1200 x 2
- AKG D70 x 2
- Superlux PRA218-A
- Superlux PRA228-A x 4 (what can I say? they were remarkably cheap, and they don't sound completely horrid if used with care)
- AKG D190E x 2 - one has seen better days, but still works well enough to be used as a talkback mic
- JWL Super Wireless Microphone WM-383 - this was £5.00 in the Oxfordshire Animal Sanctuary charity shop
